Skin Tag Removal
Richmond Dermatology can check and remove skin tags in one appointment using various methods, our most popular being cryotherapy and minor surgery combining use of a hyfrecator. (A hyfrecator is a low-powered medical apparatus used in electrosurgery on conscious patients, usually in an office setting. It is used to destroy tissue directly and to stop bleeding during minor surgery).

Botox for Hyperhidrosis
Botulinum toxin can be injected into the skin in areas of the body affected by hyperhidrosis. This helps reduce sweating in these areas by blocking the signals from the brain to the sweat glands.
Around 15-20 injections are given in the affected areas of the body, such as the armpits, hands, feet or face. The procedure usually takes about 30 minutes in total.
The effect of the injections usually lasts for several months, after which time the treatment can be repeated if necessary.

Steroid Injections (Cortisone Injections)
Can be used to treat a range of conditions, Tennis Elbow, arthritic conditions, joint pain and treatments for keloid scarring. A number of different steroids are available for injection. Some work quite quickly but for a relatively short time, while others are effective for longer but also take longer to start working.
Some steroids occur naturally in the body, man-made steroids can be introduced to the body to combat painful joints and arthritic conditions. A keloid scar is where the scar tissue has overgrown the damaged area and can become large or raised. Further surgery may aggravate and increase the size of the scar. Steroid injections can be used as an alternative to further surgery to improve the appearance of scarring.
